The House of Hope of Alachua County, Inc. was established in 1996 as a prison transition ministry. We currently have one house for men and one house for women. Our ministry is designed to provide a Christ-centered that teaches Christian living, accountability and self-discipline to our residents.

Each year approximately 25,000 inmates are released from Florida’s prisons back into our communities. Around 600 are released into Alachua County alone. At the time of release, each inmate is given a change of clothes, $50.00 and is bussed to the receiving community. The same influences that led the individual to prison may wait for the ex-offender at the end of the bus ride.

The House of Hope was established to break that cycle and provide not only housing but assistance with search for employment plus the basic necessities to survive and become productive citizens.

The House of Hope is a non-profit 501c3 charitable organization that operates solely on the generosity of donors from the private sector. Our ministry extremely grateful for those that make this outreach ministry possible.
